2020 Nissan Altima Performance Review
Looking for a smooth ride around Emmaus? Do you want a vehicle that offers good mileage and comfortable seating? Then consider the 2020 Nissan Altima. The new version’s features are quite similar to the previous models. Even a Nissan fan will have a difficult time differentiating between both model years. The exterior of the 2020 Nissan Altima also remains much the same except for a few detailing changes. Most of the changes have happened inside the car. The Nissan brand is also the first automaker to introduce the first variable compression turbo motor to the world. However, this is currently only available in the U.S. market.
Power and Acceleration
The 2020 Nissan Altima offers two engine options. Each trim level is equipped with a two and a half liter with a four-cylinder engine that can produce 188 horsepower. The Platinum and SR trim levels can be outfitted with a 2.0 liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder engine capable of 248 horsepower. Irrespective of the engine you select, you will still get the variable automatic transmission or CVT.
Both engines will offer a comfortable, daily commute in urban areas. The turbocharged variants pack an extra punch, which will make power-hungry drivers feel satisfied. The CVT imitates traditional automatic transmission and unlike other CVTs, it won’t cause the engine to buzz.
The Altima’s base engine with front-wheel drive was tested to attain an EPA of 28 mpg for city driving and 39 mpg on highways. With the all-wheel-drive variant, the EPA estimate drops to 26 and 36 mpg for city and highway driving, respectively. This Nissan Sedan model with turbocharged four engines get 25 and 34 mpg.
Braking and Handling
Even though the 2020 Nissan Altima is not the sportiest vehicle, it still offers other advantages such as a minimal body roll at turns and sharp steering. The SR trim is equipped with a firm suspension and offer more poised handling. Regardless of the trim level, you select, the Nissan Altima offers a smooth ride, with capable engines and composed handling.
